Session

Session is the name of the body responsible for the governance of a Presbyterian congregation. Session oversees all areas of ministry and activities in the life of the church.

In 2001 the congregation voted to combine the duties of the former Board of Deacons and the former Board of Trustees with those of Session. Existing membership of the former boards were included in the newly constituted Session until their terms ran out. The Session will eventually have 12 members.

Session is organized into twelve ministries. Session members chair the ministries and recruit additional members for specific and ongoing tasks. The ministries and their personnel are as follows:

The constitution of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and Ohio civil law provide that the church may be incorporated. Under the church's by-laws the Session acts as the board of trustees for the corporation.
